Simple Compound Flip Card
Print this one sheet back to back. You may prefer to print the second page upside down so that they can be actually ‘flipped’. Cut them into 4 strips and then laminate. Hand them out to the students when you wish to use them. I play a rhythm, play a melody or play recorded music and students show if I am playing in compound or simple metre.
I use this as a quick aural activity to help students hear the difference between 2 even sounds on a beat and 3 even sounds on a beat.
