Students create their own composition using the roll of the dice.
Your imagination is the only limit placed upon the use of these sheets. There is one blank – create your own Roll the Dice Masterpiece!
The concept is that students roll the dice, each time writing down the element/s indicated. The result is a composition! Students can work alone or in groups. They can perform their compositions. Some useful discussion can occur – Is this a good ending? Is this piece easy to play/sing? Why, why not? Etc.
A few ideas:
Lettername sheets. Use them to write letternames under given rhythms or write them straight onto the staff.
Solfa sheets. As above. May also transfer into letter names.
Rhythm sheets. Write them into appropriate metres. Combine different compositions to create a percussion score
