This is the overview of skills and concepts that I will be using in 2020.
This overview is for Prep to Year 6 in the Australian educational setting, based on a minimum of one half hour a week music instruction with a trained music teacher.
Students at my school have 2 half hour music lessons a week in Prep, year 1,2 and 3.
Listed concepts, after introduction, are continually practiced and built upon to create deeper understandings. Each term and each year level must take into consideration concepts listed previously.
At the end of this document is the information taken directly from the Australian Curriculum documents.
Compared to the suggested ‘Knowledge and Skills’ listed in the Australian Curriculum, I have moved some concepts to best suite my pedagogical purposes, however, I have not left anything ‘later’ than listed, but have moved some things earlier.
